Meet our Singers
Soprano, Musical Advisor, Librarian
Some friends from university
Always wanted to sing in key,
So they started a choir,
Their greatest desire
We sing much more than Do Re Mi
Soprano, Ticket Sales Coordinator, Timekeeper
My name is Rachel Suzanne
I make music wherever I can
Whether performing or teaching
I’ll arrive, wheels screeching
With a xylophone in the back of my van.
Alto, Promoter, Production Coordinator, Social Media
Katie Ekkert Horst
There once was a lady named Katie
That sang deep rich notes that were weighty
And then learned technique
Now her music’s less weak
And she should still be singing at eighty.
Sara sings low alto parts,
Tells stories from deep in her heart,
She’s focused and driven,
Loves Vancouver to live in,
And keeps choir as her home and her art.
Alto/Chair of the Board
In VanDeca, I hope to inspire
And help in strengthening the Choir
By bringing my voice,
and ideas for choice
We’re a group that’s fresh and on fire!
Tenor, Musical Advisor, Ticket Sales Coordinator
There once was a man with a beard
A giant whom ever he neared
He bakes real good bread
Though decided instead
He’ll sing his way through his career.
Tenor/Baritone, Webmaster, Public Reporter
A Mexican nerd, short in stature,
by sweet harmonies was enraptured:
A wonderful choir,
with passion and fire,
and perfect accord did him capture.
Tenor, Sponsorship Volunteer
There once was a man named James,
who liked to play jazzy tune games.
He hikes mountains for lakes,
But sometimes he bakes,
And never goes back on his claims.
Tenor, Production Coordinator, Sponsorship Volunteer
Step by step along the miles
He hits notes with vivid styles
Justin’s goal is to succeed
With friends, he’ll need
To bring the smiles
Bass, Costume Coordinator, Social Media
Grant is quite easy to describe
It won’t be a long diatribe
A jack of all trades,
who misses arcades,
And loves a good beer to imbibe
Marco del Rio
Bass, Musical Advisor, Election Coordinator, Production Coordinator, Webmaster
Hands waving in front of the choir
Or playing the whistle with fire,
He nit picks the vowels,
But mostly just giggles
And loves anapestic tetrameter.
I am newly moved to New West
So packing has been my recent quest.
I sing in a choir
I hope will inspire
You all to come sing with the best!
